Living on Cape Cod

February 5, 2007

Having lived on Cape Cod for the past 14 months with a planned stay for at least another 18 more months, I can say I am at the halfway point to becoming a local.

If you want to visit Cape Cod without the crowd, the best time of the year is off-peak, non-tourist season which runs pretty much from Labor weekend to Memorial weekend.  Only during the weekdays.  The weekends is slightly busier than usual with second homeowners commuting to the cape from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

Spring and fall is the best time of the year for a drive on route 6A which basically meanders through the towns on the inside shore along the length of Cape Cod from the Bourne Bridge to Provincetown.

One good restaurant to recommend is Landfall in Woodshole for a fancy night out on the water.  A little hideaway restaurant is Crabapple in Falmouth.
